Surabhi Lakshmi was accorded a royal reception at her hometown of Narikkuni on Monday, 22 May 2017. The reception committee, comprising local body members and villagers, arranged a fully decked up traditional horse cart to lead the actor to the venue.  Unmindful of the sudden showers, hundreds of people thronged the venue and congratulated Surabhi on her achievement.

Surabhi received the National Award from Pranab Mukherjee, the honorable President of India, this evening. She won the award for the Best Actress at the 64th National Film Awards 2016 for her lead role in the movie, ‘Minnaminungu’ (The Firefly). Information and Broadcasting Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu and MoS Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore were also present on the occasion.
